2010

July 31
Wood Lake, Nebraska - Dedication of the historical memorial sign commemorating the two P-47 pilots who crashed south of Wood Lake. The ceremony will be held in the city park beginning in late Saturday afternoon. Supper will be served from 6:00-9:00 p.m. with the actual sign dedication being at 7:00 p.m. A street dance will follow the meal. Jerry Penry will speak at this event and have books available for signing.


August 1
Ord, Nebraska - Evelyn Sharp Day. A presentation about the fatal air crashes of WWII will be given by Jerry Penry beginning at noon on Sunday. Location is Calamity Jane's Steakhouse near the corner of HWY 70 which goes through Ord and 15th Street. Address: 116 S. 15th Street.


August 14
Milligan, Nebraska - Mark your calendars for this one!! SATURDAY, AUGUST 14, 2010. Three Nebraska State Historical Markers will be dedicated at Milligan which will involve a full day of activities. Many family members will be present to represent those who gave their lives as the result of six aircraft crashes. More details and a complete list of events will be coming soon. Jerry will give a slideshow presentation pertaining the the three mid-air collisions and books will be available before and after the presentation.

October 2
Kearney, Nebraska - Nebraska State Fly-in at the Kearney Municipal Airfield located east of Kearney. (Former Kearney AAF of WWII). Book signing table will be set up and artifacts from some of the various crash sites will be on display. Note: The previous date of August 28 has been changed for this event.
